炎症性腸疾患（IBD）は、主にクローン病と潰瘍性大腸炎を含む慢性的な消化管の炎症を特徴とする病気です。これらの疾患は、特に若年成人や中年層に多く見られ、患者の生活の質を著しく低下させる可能性があります。炎症性腸疾患の発症原因は明確には解明されていませんが、遺伝的要因、環境要因、免疫系の異常などが関与していると考えられています。また、IBDは慢性の経過を持つため、長期にわたる治療と管理が必要です。
